I haven't been sewing much lately...Actually, I have, just not for me. I work at a sewing shop now. I love it. I love it so much I bring a lot of projects home, sewing shop samples, things like that... I've been doing some graphics work which is really a lot of fun too. So lately, I've not been sewing in my "free time" and I miss it.
I finished up some felt projects which will be off to market soon so you will see some pictures here eventually...
I've been loving the fusion of fashion/sewing blogs and it is so inspiring. True Bias is a great new blog that has been buzzing around. Kelli had this great idea to start a spring wardrobe list and I think I'm going to use that as some inspiration to get projects done around here!
I put together this "springboard" or spring inspiration board of clothes to make. I don't remember where I read it, but another sewing blog mentioned too much frosting, not enough cake. I get it. I've sewed a lot of dresses in the past but didn't have many actual day to day pieces. Suzanna's How to Wear DIY series really tackles this and I love her for that!
So here's my thinking...I know I'm starting late so I need pieces to transition into summer. Thankfully it's chilly here in Wisconsin!
Lace-I love lace tunics! Great to wear over skinny jeans.
Easy Tops-I was turned onto the Scout pattern by Grainline and want to try it.
Envelope Clutch-an easy way to add a pop of color and on the plus side, I really need something to put my ipad in...
Striped Skirt-I've been eyeing this skirt from anthro for a while and really want to make one. It's a bit of frosting though. I know, I know...I can't change overnight.
Color Blocking-very on trend for this year. I'd like something easy to grab and go. I could use a pattern I've already got from Burda. Maybe an Anda or Tara?
